Menu Shop will not be responsible for any Customs charges that your order might incur if you are ordering from outside the EU.

Paying and invoicing

In order to place an online order we require debit or credit card details via our secure system. We reserve the right to make a reasonable charge for work incurred on cancelled personalised orders. We accept all major credit and debit cards(excluding American Express).

Items ordered over the phone or by post must be paid for by credit card, cheque, postal order, banker's draft or direct money transfer on a proforma basis either when order is placed or when artwork has been approved. If invoice and delivery address are different, just let us know at the time of payment.

There is no extra charge for paying by credit card.

We cannot allow COD payments as we use a third party carrier to deliver your goods.

How secure is the Menushop website?

Security is the main consideration for online purchasing which is why we take security very seriously at Menushop.

Whenever your personal information is sent to or from us we ensure that the information is sent securely using the latest SSL encryption (Secure Socket Layers). This means that the information cannot be intercepted and decrypted by anyone else - for tech-heads, we use a variable SSL encryption at 128 to 40 bit dependant on the browser capabilities. All of your orders and details are kept in a secure database on our webserver and can only be accessed by key members of the Menushop staff and are not shared with anyone else.

This is an unofficial reminder to you that you are in a secure area of the website, but the official confirmation can be found by looking for the locked padlock icon This is a secure zone - look for the padlock icon in the bottom of your browser window on the bottom right (Internet Explorer) or bottom left (Netscape Navigator) of your browser window. This shows that you are using secure encryption. If you double click on the padlock it will bring up more details about our security certificate including the encryption level and the fact that the certificate is in our name!

You can also tell you are in a secure area by looking at the url of the page (in the address bar of your browser). This will always start with " https:// " instead of plain old http://

If you wish to talk to a human being about anything relating to Menushop or the website, or if you have any general queries you can phone us on 01985 217000. This is a standard rate line, so calls will not cost more than normal. Our offices are open from 9am-5pm (GMT) Monday to Friday except for bank holidays, but you can send us an email to sales@menushop.co.uk at any time and we will respond as quickly as possible.

Why do we have a privacy policy?

Our privacy policy describes in detail how we will use the personal information you provide when we provide goods or services.  We will also explain how you can exercise your rights in respect to your personal information.

In the course of our dealings with you, we will collect personal information in order to provide the best service to you and to support our ongoing relationship with you.  We are committed to protecting your privacy and we will only use your information in accordance to the General Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018).

What personal information do we collect?

When you sign up to one of our services or make a purchase, we ask for the below personal information which is stored securely.

  • Your telephone number
  • Your purchase history (after your first order)

This information is only used to successfully complete orders and is required to set up your account; we never retain any payment information on our website.

We use analytics to track who visits our site and what they look at to help provide a better service to our customers.  When you visit our site your IP address (your computer’s unique ID) is automatically logged by our server.  

While browsing our site your navigation data is collected by cookies to improve your experience when using our site.  These cookies also allow you to save the time and effort of re-entering your details each time you return to our site.  Please note that when you first visit our site you can accept or decline this data collection.

What do we do with your information?

Any and all data collected by us will be used in accordance to GDPR laws and any other applicable privacy laws.

The information you provide when visiting our site will be used to:

You are within your rights to request any personal information we may hold on you.  This request can be made online using “contact us” or by contacting our customer service team.  Once we have received your request we will ask to confirm your identity and will provide you with the requested information within 30 days.

You also have the right to unsubscribe to any and all marketing material we provide.  This can be done easily by using the “unsubscribe” link on any of our emails, alternatively you can contact our customer service team.

Policy Updates

If our privacy policies should change we will update this section and notify you so that you are always aware and up to date.  Our privacy policy will be seen to be in effect from the moment it has been posted on our website.

Terms and Conditions

  1. The terms of the contract do not affect your statutory rights.
  2. All Prices shown exclude VAT.
  3. Returned or represented cheques will be charged a £10.00 administration fee
  4. Prices are subject to alteration without prior notice.
  5. Claims arising from shortages or damages must be made within 3 days upon receipt of the goods. Damaged/shortage of parcels must be signed for as damaged/parcel shortage.
  6. Goods dispatched to a third party are at your own risk.
  7. Goods remain the property of The Menu Shop until full payment has been received. All goods are subject to delivery costs unless collected from our premises giving prior notice.

Your right to cancel your order: cancellation notice

Under the Consumer Protection - 'Distance Selling Regulations 2000' you (the consumer) have the right to cancel your order for unpersonalised goods within a 7 working day period. The cancellation period starts from the day the order is placed.

For personalised goods you can cancel your order at any time prior to the goods being made though there may be a cancellation charge equivalent to any artwork and plate charges already incurred by The Menu Shop.

The regulations require the consumer to send a notice of cancellation in writing including fax or email. A telephone call is not sufficient. In the event of cancellation after the goods have been delivered please see 'Returns' below.

Returns

We will only accept return of personalised goods if they are damaged or faulty. If the product arrives to you damaged or faulty in any way, this must be notified within 3 days of receipt. To avoid uncertainty we request that notification be made in writing (email, letter or fax). The sales staff will then arrange to uplift and replace.  Thereafter we accept no responsibility as goods may have been damaged after arrival. This does not affect your statutory rights.

For unpersonalised goods we have a 7-day returns policy, so if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase you can return it to us within 7 days of receipt. To qualify for credit, goods must be returned in original packaging and in re-saleable condition, please contact our sales team to get a returns note so your order can be identified quickly enabling a speedy refund. We reserve the right to charge a 20% restocking fee where we deem applicable and will not credit original carriage charge. If the product arrives to you damaged or faulty in any way, this must be notified within 3 days of receipt. The sales staff will then arrange to uplift and replace.

Thereafter we accept no responsibility as goods may have been damaged after arrival. This does not affect your statutory rights.
